A single DIMS transition of adenylate kinase (AdK) shows the opening of the salt bridge zipper. Salt bridges pairs are shown in the same colors as in Fig 7 in the manuscript. A line is shown between the two moieties while the distance is <10 Å. The LID domain is colored yellow, and the NMP domain is shown in light blue. The CORE domain (white) stays unchanged during the transition.

Note for Apple Macintosh users: In order to view the avi movies in QuickTime you might want to install the free open source component bundle from perian.org, which supports many popular video formats, including the mpeg4 format that was used to encode the transitions (using encode_movie.py to drive mencoder).
